Fraud control

Enable, disable and tune click and conversion fraud rules, and choose whether each rejects, flags or only monitors. For network admins.

Rules that check every click and conversion for signs of bad traffic. Each rule can be switched on or off and given an action. Changes apply to live traffic immediately.

What you can do here

  • Click rules — Geo, device, OS and browser mismatch, blocked IP, IP velocity, bot user agent, proxy/VPN/datacenter IP, duplicate click, missing user agent.
  • Conversion rules — Expired attribution, conversion too soon after click, conversion velocity per publisher, repeat conversions from one IP.
  • Tune a rule — Change its action, threshold and time window, then Save.
  • Add a rule — Pick a rule type that isn't configured yet; it starts with sensible defaults (for example IP velocity: 8 clicks in 10 minutes).

Fields and settings

FieldWhat it does
ActionWhat happens when the rule matches. Values: reject blocks the click or conversion; flag lets it through but marks it — a flagged conversion is held as pending for review; monitor records the signal only. Depends on: Targeting rules (geo, device, OS, browser, blocked IP) always block a matching click unless a fallback rule redirects it — their action setting doesn't soften that.
Threshold & windowHow many events within how many minutes trigger the rule — e.g. IP velocity 8 / 10 min means the 8th click from one IP within 10 minutes matches. For Conversion too soon, the threshold is the minimum plausible seconds between click and conversion.

Limitations

  • Depends on: Turning Geo mismatch off stops country targeting from being enforced on every campaign.
  • Depends on: Device, OS and browser targeting and IP blocklists are enforced from the campaign settings even without those rules.
  • Not supported: Disabling Expired attribution doesn't stop late conversions being held — set its action to monitor instead.
  • Restricted: Only the Super Admin can change rules.

Common mistakes

  • Setting quality rules to reject too early — A false positive then costs a publisher real conversions. Start with flag, review, then tighten.
  • Forgetting flagged conversions — Flagged conversions wait as pending until a person reviews them — an advertiser re-sending approved doesn't release the hold. There's no review button in the app yet: use PATCH /api/v1/conversions/{id} with an admin API key.

Troubleshooting

  • Many conversions suddenly pending — A conversion rule with action flag is matching — check Conversion velocity and Repeat conversions from one IP thresholds, and look at the flags in Click Intelligence.
  • Legitimate clicks rejected as proxy/VPN — Switch Proxy / VPN / datacenter IP to flag while you investigate.
