Use tracking links and sub IDs
How your tracking link is built and how to pass sub IDs to see what's working.
Anatomy of a tracking link
Your link looks like this (the domain may differ on your network):
https://click.affilinext.com/track?campaign_id=cmp_123&affiliate_id=aff_456&sub1=facebook&sub2=video-ad-3| Parameter | Meaning |
|---|---|
campaign_id | The campaign (offer) you're promoting. Don't change it. |
affiliate_id | Your publisher ID. Don't change it. |
sub1 – sub5 | Optional labels you choose — traffic source, ad set, creative, placement, your own click ID. |
Why use sub IDs
Sub IDs let you break down results inside Affilinext. Pass the traffic source in sub1 and the creative in sub2, then open the Sub ID Report under Reporting to see clicks, conversions and earnings for each value.
Most ad platforms can fill these in for you with their own macros, for example:
...&sub1={source}&sub2={creative}&sub3={placement}Rules worth knowing
- Keep values short and URL-safe (letters, numbers,
-and_). - Each click gets a unique
click_id; don't try to set it yourself. - Clicks from countries, devices or sources the campaign doesn't allow may be redirected elsewhere or rejected with "This traffic is not eligible for this campaign."
